In the previous post, Nuboo and Babuu were taking a short break in a beautiful pavilion by a lake before continuing the rest of their journey in Haw Par Villa. They overheard passerbys commenting that the place would be open only till 6pm daily and decided to investigate the reason for such a rule...

Nuboo and Babuu skipped happily along the way and chanced upon a place that housed an odd looking car. Nearby was a sign that wrote "Ten Courts of Hell" pointing towards a small path. Could this place be the real reason why Haw Par Villa is only open till 6pm? Both of them followed the path in and reached a place with a nice pool named "Wishing Well". But when Nuboo turned her head, she had a shock of her life!

| There were also 2 scary looking beings standing nearby. What were these? They had no idea. |

| Nuboo and Babuu saw a dark and gloomy gate from afar, with a plant pot stating "Safety" beside them... |
The Ten Courts of Hell
Both Nuboo and Babuu mustered up their courage to approach the dark looking gate. This should be the place that the earlier sign had pointed to. Was it really Hell in there? They wouldn't know unless they find out for themselves...

PUNISHMENT: Sinners were sent to repent before the Mirror of Retribution then taken to a court of hell for punishment |

CRIMES: Inflicting physical injury, Conmen, Robbers, Corruption, Stealing, Gambling, Prostitutes
PUNISHMENTS: Thrown into volcanic pits, Frozen into blocks of ice, Drowned in pool of blood |

The 3rd Court of Hell for Sinners
CRIMES: Ungratefulness, Disrespect to Elders, Escape from prison, Drug addicts & Traffickers, Tomb robbers, Urging people into crime and social unrest
PUNISHMENTS: Heart cut-out, Tied to red hot copper pillar and grilled |

CRIMES: Tax dodger, Refusal to pay rent, Business fraud, Disobedience to one's siblings, Lack of filial piety
PUNISHMENTS: Pounded by stone mallet, Grounded by a large stone |

CRIMES: Plotted another's death for his property or money, Moneylenders with exorbitant interest rates
PUNISHMENTS: Thrown onto a hill of knives |

CRIMES: Cheating, Cursing, Abducting others, Misuse of book, Possession of pornographic material, Breaking written rules and regulations, Wasting food
PUNISHMENTS: Thrown onto a tree of knives, Body sewn into two |

The 7th Court of Hell for Sinners
CRIMES: Rumour-mongers, Sowing discord among family members, Rapists, Driving someone to their death
PUNISHMENTS: Tongue pulled out, Thrown into wok of boiling oil |

The 8th Court of Hell for Sinners
CRIMES: Lack of filial obedience, Causing trouble for parents and family members, Cheating during examinations, Harming others to benefit oneself
PUNISHMENTS: Intestines and organs pulled out, Body dismembered |

The 9th Court of Hell for Sinners
CRIMES: Robbery, Murder, Rape, Any other unlawful conduct, Neglect of the old and the young
PUNISHMENTS: Head and arms chopped off, Crushed under boulders |

The 10th Court of Hell for Sinners
The Judge passed the final judgement to be reborn as either human or animal |

| The Pavilion of Forgetfulness; Granny Meng Po handed prisoners a cup of magic tea to drink which would help them forget their past lives. The sinners then left the Ten Courts of Hell via one of the six paths of the Wheel of Reincarnation (Samsara) |

Finally a sigh of relief for Nuboo and Babuu to get out of the horrible courts. But...
Gloom? (O_O)
Why was it so gloomy looking outside? Could there be more to Haw Par Villa than the terrifying Ten Courts of Hell? Both of them became quite lost as to where to go now and as they walked on, Babuu saw another sign...

| What could be inside? Although curious, both of them decided not to be cheeky and went the other way |

| There was nothing much here either, just a dark man, an old shrine and an old toilet. So they turned back. |
 |
| At a corner was a run-down open space complex. The roof covers were torn and huge dirty canvas were draped all over. Nuboo and Babuu could go no further as the entrance was sealed. |

| There were "Out of Bounds" signs everywhere which made Nuboo and Babuu very helpless. There seemed to be no place that they could go! |
 |
| This was the last straw! Both of them decided to go through the side gate and do some exploration, and perhaps to try find their way out! Time was already 30 minutes to 6pm.. |

| There was a dilapidated old hut and for a while, it gave Nuboo and Babuu some hope. They knocked on the door but no one answered. Dismayed, they continued walking on. |

| From a distance, they saw a gravel path leading to a very old house. This seemed to be the backyard of Haw Par Villa. Should they go over to take a look? |

| This house looked too creepy to venture in and there was a big face mask lying on the ground. Nuboo and Babuu had better turn back and find some other way out! |
 |
| No other way out. It was either down the stairs to another realm or to turn back for both of them... Where the H** was this place??? Through the Ten Courts of Hell again? NOOOOOOOOOO.......... |

| Babuu had an idea. They just needed to find a quiet spot and use their secret weapon; SDTD aka Short Distance Teleport Device (=__=)v This abandoned toilet place would do just fine. |

It was really a day of adventure for Nuboo and Babuu though they did not discover the real reason behind Haw Par Villa's closing time. It was already 5:55pm. They had better teleport home now. They decided that they really liked Singapore and might come back again to explore real soon! Till then... *WAVES*
